So, i’m in a ridiculously hot country at the moment and its wreaking havoc with my face.
Ok, so the rest of me is always chaos, but my face? I’m usually ok with.
Not today. After two months of pimples popping up on my chin every day (its like my pores are executing a slow and painful death to my good skin. They’re organised!!) I’ve had enough.
It’s time to get serious. I HAVE to start looking after my skin.
Step one: Research
As any good Gen Y-er would, my first port of call was Google. I typed in ‘pores like potholes’ and found out what I needed. A routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising. Well, dang. They make it sound so easy. Generally anything of the ‘pore minimising’ or ‘anti-bacterial’ pursuasion should be what I need to get back to my healthy skin (which, having psoriasis since I was 6 months old, is something I REALLY enjoy).
Step two: Shopping (yay!)
I strolled down to my local hyper-market and took my time in the beauty isle (As I always do. Has anyone else got a secret love of meandering through moisturisers and hair care?). With FAR too many options, I settled for the ones with the best advertising (Read: If I remembered their TV commercial).
I settled for Pond’s anti-bacterial scrub and matching toner. I also picked up a Olay total-effects anti-aging day cream. I figure I may as well start now.
In case the Pond’s wash was ineffective after a week, I also bought Biore t-zone something something (their ad had this really annoying girl AND a really annoying song, so I recalled it vividly).
To go with I naturally (each big buy has to have accessories, right?) purchased a fun towelly headband so I wouldn’t anti-bacterial scrub my hair.
Step Three: Do the deed.
They say to do it every night and every morning. So - tonight’s the night. I’ll let you know tomorrow about the result. Wish me luck?
Next stop - SWAN?
